Poppytalk Spring Colours Week: Friday, White

Today I had some rare time to stroll around my little downtown area. I wandered into one of my favorite shops, Prairie. There is always a lot to take in and see, it's a well-styled shop. But today, I noticed the white doorknobs on the dressing rooms.

I love the weathered wood all around the store.

Afterwards, I discovered a new shop but that will be a secret for now because I hope to be bold and interview the owner for my blog! I had a great time getting out with my camera this week thanks to Poppytalk!

Have a wonderful weekend friends...

Poppytalk Spring Colours Week: Thursday, Lavender

Whew! It's been quite a busy day between working a bit on my day off, shopping and prepping for teaching cooking to the Noodle's class tomorrow, picking up the right size of Little League pants, buying some new clothing in size M (8) because certain little boys are growing and aging before my very eyes, cooking & cleaning and hosting a playdate complete with a glorious mess, well this Mama is wooped!

Speaking of a glorious mess, with no knowledge whatsoever of Poppytalk or Spring Colour Weeks, one of our guests today showed up perfectly dressed for Lavender Thursday.

She must love lavender because it found its way into her birthday card for her daddy.
Serendipity!

Exciting Update!
This photo was posted by Jan on Poppytalk today:

Back to the original post...

I simply cannot get ENOUGH of ranunculus this year. The pale pink ones up at the top?
They came home with me.

Are you enjoying spring colour week too? I've been adding pictures daily to my Flickr faves.

Poppytalk Spring Colours Week: Monday, Green

Good day all! This is going to be a beautiful, colorful week thanks to the annual Poppytalk Spring Colours Week. Today is all about the green.

This is my first bundle of spring asparagus. I think it's the perfect way to start off the week.

I will be posting a few more green photos in the Flickr pool later today, but in the meantime, take a little break and go check out what everyone else has already submitted.

Spring Color Week, Faves!

Oh my, did I have an enjoyable day going through the entire Spring Colors Week pool, which is now filled with more than 2,000 images! Yes, I did look at every single page. Without further ado, here is a sampling of my faves...the rows correspond to each day (i.e. Monday/pink, top row; Tuesday/green, second row, etc.).

To see more of my favorites, because there are many more, click on the mosaic and you'll go straight through. Also I decided to post my little painting over on the Sweet Eventide FB page instead of in my photostream. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Spring Color Week, Poppytalk

Today is the last day of Spring Colors Week and it has been awesome. We're ending on a high note with one of my absolute favorite colors, robins egg blue.

I love color weeks because they push me creatively and get me out snapping on a daily basis. Also they get me into Flickr because believe it or not, I don't spend exorbitant amounts of time there. In light of that fact, I'm going to take a cue from our host Poppytalk and come back later today with highlights of my own.

P.S. I also made a tiny painting with this color but it's taking forever to dry (despite its size). So I will post it in my Flickr later and give you the link in my second post of the day.

I must admit, purple was a very big challenge for me. My eye is not naturally drawn to purple and I do not have any purple objects that I would take the time to photograph for you. But I did finally find a few images I liked enough to post!

Luckily, lots of other people are out there submitting purple goodness of their own. Don't you love the purple hair Jan highlighted at Poppytalk?

Spring Color Week, Poppytalk

I spent the morning photowalking my fair town to capture a little yellow spring sunshine for everyone. Including me, I could use the cheer quite frankly. I have got a pretty bad case of the winter doldrums and have been feeling rather lethargic and uninspired. Blergh! In with the sunny yellows!

That is what I like to see: yellow leading all the way up to the sky where the master of all yellow lives. As for me, I'm going to pack a lunch right quick, pick up my Noodle and go swimming. (In the indoor pool of course). When I get home later, I'm going swimming in the other kind of pool, you know, the one Poppytalk built to be filled with lots of spring color.
