I had a fever yesterday, yes. But I also had a sunny day, a six-year-old, and a print order to pick up.
I hope I don't oversaturate the blog with images of my plum tree, and bore you all to tears, but I have fallen quite in love. It is the first house I have ever lived in with a fruit-bearing tree and to see it blossom in spring is quite the amazing experience.
How was your weekend? Mine kicked off Rockette style with my discovery of this Apartment Therapy post with my Apothecary photo dead center. It was just a wee bit exciting for me. :)
Otherwise, we are doing well besides a little virus running back and forth between me and my husband. The Noodle's school is closed today but I'm going to take advantage of our first 70+ degree day and go somewhere, even if I don't feel my best.
Oh my, did I have an enjoyable day going through the entire Spring Colors Week pool, which is now filled with more than 2,000 images! Yes, I did look at every single page. Without further ado, here is a sampling of my faves...the rows correspond to each day (i.e. Monday/pink, top row; Tuesday/green, second row, etc.).

I love color weeks because they push me creatively and get me out snapping on a daily basis. Also they get me into Flickr because believe it or not, I don't spend exorbitant amounts of time there. In light of that fact, I'm going to take a cue from our host Poppytalk and come back later today with highlights of my own.
P.S. I also made a tiny painting with this color but it's taking forever to dry (despite its size). So I will post it in my Flickr later and give you the link in my second post of the day.
I must admit, purple was a very big challenge for me. My eye is not naturally drawn to purple and I do not have any purple objects that I would take the time to photograph for you. But I did finally find a few images I liked enough to post!
Luckily, lots of other people are out there submitting purple goodness of their own. Don't you love the purple hair Jan highlighted at Poppytalk?
I spent the morning photowalking my fair town to capture a little yellow spring sunshine for everyone. Including me, I could use the cheer quite frankly. I have got a pretty bad case of the winter doldrums and have been feeling rather lethargic and uninspired. Blergh! In with the sunny yellows!
That is what I like to see: yellow leading all the way up to the sky where the master of all yellow lives. As for me, I'm going to pack a lunch right quick, pick up my Noodle and go swimming. (In the indoor pool of course). When I get home later, I'm going swimming in the other kind of pool, you know, the one Poppytalk built to be filled with lots of spring color.
Yesterday I was beside myself when I realized Poppytalk was hosting a spring color week. So I missed Pink on Monday but I am here bursting with Green for Tuesday.

P.S. I am sad to report I did not really try anything new this weekend, but I'm not going to give up altogether. My son did lose his first tooth yesterday and the tooth fairy left him a Sacagawea dollar which I had never seen before. So that was new. ;)
I get *really* hungry after I swim so today on the way home, we stopped at a sandwich shop and I resisted a soda. Yes I did. I tried something new!
It was delicious. I think I even went so far as to say to my husband, "it's so yummy, it's like a party in my mouth." No HFCS either. Now I want to try other new things this weekend. Kind of like how Erin buys a new weird veggie every time she goes to the grocery store.
I'm also thinking along the lines of things not related to food and trying something that's not necessarily conducive to my personality, like singing my way out of a bad mood. While I was at the pool earlier today, I saw a flyer for an upcoming "try it with a friend" capoeira class. Or maybe I'll try something from my list like merging my email accounts finally or dusting off that old guitar or saying a lot more "yes" or learning how to make a cheesecake. Maybe I will take a baby step like this peaches and cream cheese cake from Sam at Inklore instead.
So I'm full of ideas and I'll report back on Monday to hold myself accountable a little bit. Have you tried anything new lately?
I think everyone knows that Paper Source is a wonderland for paper lovers like me. I actually love being on their email list. I have to share a few of their new spring goodies today as I continue to anticipate and wait for spring to arrive in 16 days.
On Wednesdays, I love to share a few links with you all that have caught my eye because it's a nice little diversion to get us through the middle of the week. Not that I advocate living only for the weekend, no way! We have to enjoy some part of each and every day (no pressure to enjoy every minute, I'm also realistic).
Right off the bat are these Vintage Camera photo blocks from Susannah Tucker, which went immediately into my Etsy favorites. Gotta thank Holly for another fab find!
Another instant fave, photographs like a perfect sonnet transport me right into a daydream about a life in which I am a vagabond musician who lives for applause and dollar bills in my weathered guitar case, where I stay up till 3 am writing new songs or going to my musical friend's gigs in seedy bars, I eat a lot of top ramen, sleep late, wear one of my thirteen pairs of Levis every day and it's possible that I smoke cigarettes. I'm not sure I go that far in my daydream, but maybe I do, since this is not me, not at all, because first of all I am a girl who likes fresh organic produce and who only owns two pairs of jeans.
Speaking of fresh produce, I made Erin's Pan-Roasted Cauliflower last week and it. was. divine. I didn't have pine nuts or chives on hand, but it was still fabulous. It will just be extra amazing if you have those two items. Also, today is the deadline to Say No to GMO Alfalfa.
This photo gesundheit! made me chuckle. I saw it in the sneeze-free Trees in Flower Flickr pool which is a great way to escape for an afternoon walk if you are indoors at the moment.
I think I'll end with this darling felted lovey that came to me via a tweet by Elena. People never cease to amaze me with their hand work! I'm dedicating the last two images/links to March, which brings us spring at long last.

This is the book that inspired my intro to the world of crochet over the weekend. Each critter is adorable beyond words, easy enough for a beginner to attempt and I'm pretty sure it won't take me three years to make one, unlike a blanket.

Ana is seriously sweet and nice. Read her Etsy Success Story from 2008. I ordered her Moms and Babies pattern set and I'm working on the bunny. I promise to post a photo of the finished project. I am using Lion's Brand organic cotton yarn that I was thrilled to find at Michaels for $7 a skein.
Good morning! Our weekend turned out to be bursting with fun. Friday we had a good storm and by the evening, the skies were dramatic! I took a few photos on our way to see Disney's Alice in Wonderland at a school pajama party with pizza. Kid heaven!
Yesterday we met a dear friend of mine and her family for an epic adventure at the coast. It was so epic that we completely lost track of time and the hike back to the cars took much longer than expected. The only sour note of the weekend was that we had invited my poor MIL for dinner and she arrived on time, but we didn't. She waited and waited for us at home, but by the time we reached a place with a cell signal again, it was much too late and she rightfully gave up on us. We feel terrible about it and we're scheming a way to make it up to her.

I've been drooling over the blooming magnolia trees in my fair town and finally stopped to take a few photos this morning. I was out in the calm before the storm, literally. The winds have started to pick up and howl outside! I love it!
I have a mellow weekend in front of me, how about you? I finished knitting the epic blanket last week and I'm almost done weaving in all of the yarn tails. Which means there may be some crochet hooks in my future! I wonder if I can get my boys to take me to San Francisco to a yarn shop? Hmm. Also, I'm over in the Green Phone Booth today, I'd love for you to visit me there.

As I was pouncing along, feeling rather like Tigger, Sarah's photos stopped me in my tracks. I am like a magnet to all things Oregon, the coastal picture taken there (on the bottom right) is the one that got me into her shop.
I love highlighting a shop that hasn't had any sales yet with this short & sweet new feature. The idea that maybe occasionally I introduce someone to a shop and that person becomes their first sale kind of makes me giddy. I think it would be a neat feeling to be someone's first sale. Have any of you experienced that yet? If so, kindly share which shop in a comment! Hopefully it was a great experience!
